Bright Automotive says it soon release an electric car with a 100 mile per gallon plus plug-in – and the company says it will keep the car economically priced. Bright Automotive, which spun out of the Rocky Mountain Institute in January, is building a plug-in hybrid vehicle that will get 100 miles a gallon (see Green Lightpost).

Price tag: about $25,000, made from 95% recyclable materials with a top speed of 65 miles per hour and range of 110 miles per charge. They are also useless if you ever need to drive over 100 to 200 miles in one trip. Considering the cost of batteries, these are disposable cars. market b y the end of 2009. before 2010.
