CARB previews ‘smog check’ for heavy-duty trucks; phase-in begins 1 Jan

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recently previewed the Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance Program (HD I/M), which is due to begin phasing in on 1 Jan 2023 ( earlier post ), at an enforcement truck event held at the Port of Los Angeles. These estimated benefits are 18 times the estimated cost of the program at $4 billion.
