Researchers at Tsinghua University in China have shown that sugarcane juice is a good feedstock for biodiesel production, when used to support the growth of the alga Chlorella protothecoides by heterotrophic fermentation. This new study investigated further improvements in algal oil yield, while minimizing the cost of fermentation.

Throw in costs of the driver, electricity and maintenance, that would mean a minimum revenue required of Rs. It was a 10 course lunch and if my memory serves me right, this is what we had: Grape juice, Masala dosa, Wada, Bisellebela rice, Rasam rice, Sambar Rice, Curd Rice, Badam halwa, Sheera, Icecream with fruits and paan.

Annual use of an EV should be less than the average cost of $8,000 per year for using a gasoline in many countries including the USA. So while my car is powering the great city during the day how will I have juice to drive home at the end of the day? Pre-paid 600 kilometer cards are one approach that is suggested.

A couple of drawbacks to consider might be the capitalization costs of building these stations and the batteries that they would have to have in stock. ↓ ↑ report 16 Vlad 10:25AM (4/10/2009) I dont think that home-charging is even a question and that it will be universally available soon. Battery swapping has its critics.

Your author would argue that the juice simply isn’t worth the squeeze. Unfortunately, the places the government is targeting aren’t the regions where EVs sell in meaningful volumes and public charging stations are almost universally loathed by EV today’s owners. The cost of fully implementing the Kyoto Protocol (in terms of lost economic growth) has been estimated at roughly $180 billion a year. No wonder so many of them have so much trouble with the largely Western plea that we all go on a carbon diet. It’s simply not in their interest to do so.
