Diesel buses typically operate for 18 to 20 hours per day, over a range of about 186-217 miles (300-350 km), using one tank of fuel. Fuel cell hybrid buses are deployed in North America, at AC Transit and SunLine in California, and CTTRANSIT in Connecticut. The most significant challenge was range. This was higher than expected.
