ROC-1 will work with high power DC charging stations that use a CCS-1 charging connector, offering capability to autonomously charge the vehicles from existing charging supply equipment. Drivers will only have to park yard tractors near charging stations versus manually connecting vehicles to the stations.

In the initial phase, the aim is to install nearly 100 DC Fast charging ports across both coasts, with plans to expand the program to increase access to fast charging across the country. These newly installed DC Fast chargers will be added to the growing ChargePoint network of more than 20,000 charging spots in North America.

In addition to each being equipped with two Level-2 chargers (40 total in the PNW region), 10 of the dealers will also be up-fitted with 50kW Signet FC50K-CC-S DC fast chargers, increasing Kia’s overall network of fast-charging stations. This fast charger can charge the Soul EV’s battery from empty to 80% in about 33 minutes.
