Spanish EV charging company Wallbox has announced a partnership with financial technology company Plenti and distributor OSW, as part of a new platform – called GreenConnect launching this year.
Plenti’s GreenConnect platform is being advertised as a hub-like website where renewable energy products, electricians and customers can be brought together.
“The way I see this, it’s kind of the Airbnb for renewable solutions,” Xavier Peña, head of marketing for the APAC region at Wallbox told TheDriven.
“It’s basically making it easier for Australians to access these technologies all in a single place.”
Wallbox – who are well known for their chargers and home charging systems – have announced a Solar Ready Kit as part of GreenConnect. The kit will contain a Pulsar Plus – one of Wallbox’s chargers, a power meter to install into the main switchboard of the home, and a cable management dock. Peña told TheDriven that the price for this product had not yet been confirmed.
The announcement is part of the Everything Electric tradeshow hosted in Sydney from tomorrow. TheDriven is one of the media partners for the event, and is offering discounted tickets to readers.
Although the team don’t yet have a date for the GreenConnect platform to go live, Peña says that the team are just ironing out the final issues.
“The stock is in the country, and the GreenConnect platform is ready to go.
“They’re just uploading the last details, like pictures and specifications of the products.”
Plenti’s shares soared in November last year when it announced a partnership with NAB to offer an electric vehicle loan program. Plenti’s GreenConnect will also include loans along with the other products.
“The Wallbox offer on GreenConnect demonstrates our ongoing commitment to household electrification and will be an exciting expansion for GreenConnect beyond our existing battery and Virtual Power Plant offerings”, said Louis Edwards, Plenti’s Head of Renewables and Group Corporate Development.
