Once again, a conference on plug-in cars. The conference attendees heard the now familiar if increasingly impassioned representatives of the utility industry trumpet the benefits of electricity for transportation. Representatives of GM stoked the clamor for the Volt, and a Saturn Vue plug-in hybrid sat on the show floor.

SpaceX’s sootiest Falcon 9 booster yet returns to port after record reuse

GM Releases New Viability Plan, Launches Bond Exchange; Phasing Out Pontiac

As part of the new plan, GM will accelerate the wind-down or sale of HUMMER, Saturn and Saab to the end of 2009, and phase out Pontiac by the end of 2010. The revised plan moves up the resolution of Saab, Saturn, and Hummer to the end of 2009, at the latest. The Pontiac brand will be phased out by the end of 2010.

A little googling revealed that the local Chrysler plant had recently closed, and these folks were hoping to see it re-opened and used to build a new generation of electric cars.
