Teijin Frontier develops first tire cord made from eco-friendly adhesive and recycled polyester

Green Car Congress

Due to its use of an adhesive polymer compound instead of RF, the new tire cord reduces the environmental impact of adhesive processing. Its chemically recycled fibers, which are made from polymers produced with a chemical recycling method, maintain their strength, fatigue resistance, dimensional stability and heat resistance.

U Minn researchers develop bio-based elastomers from recoverable methyl valerolactone; tires, gaskets, seals, etc.

Green Car Congress

The glass transition temperature is the temperature region in which a polymer transitions from a hard, glassy material to a soft, rubbery material. In other words, when the polymer is cooled below the glass transition temperature, it becomes hard and brittle. Their production and disposal is therefore unsustainable in the long term.
