The data presented in these studies did not show any evidence of deterioration in engine durability or maintenance issues for E15 (or E20) in comparison to E0 and E10 (when tested). Materials compatibility testing provides no evidence that 15 vol% ethanol blends will cause increased rates of metal corrosion in comparison to 10% blends.

The ATJ is derived from isobutanol produced at its commercial isobutanol plant located in Luverne, Minnesota. Gevo is well positioned to play a role in this growth, as the company believes its ATJ is cost advantaged in comparison to other renewable jet alternatives derived from carbohydrate-based feedstocks.

The team found that using concentration rather than intake is suboptimal for health comparisons. The study used an intake-based, rather than concentration-based, risk assessment for primary PM 2.5. For example, they noted, comparing PM 2.5 are about equal between the two modes.
