It looks like the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator are dumping their hybrid trims for the 2024 model year. The Explorer SUV was previously offered with a hybridized 3.3-liter liter V6, whereas the Aviator Grand Touring came with a hybridized twin-turbo 3.0-liter These powertrains won’t be available on the retail market anymore.

Still, if you want Lexus quiet from your hybrids, you’ll need to, you know, buy a Lexus. That stereotype was often unfair and inaccurate. Something I didn’t think could be done.

They can meet standards by making and selling smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles, or by employing technologies such as hybrid or battery-electric vehicles to reduce tailpipe emissions to bring down their fleet average emissions. This is why we don’t run gas vehicles in enclosed spaces. Why do these standards matter?
