Topsoe will deliver basic engineering and license for methanol synthesis and TIGAS gasoline synthesis technologies. This is our first involvement in a commercial scale Power-to-X facility producing gasoline. The gasoline synthesis from methanol has been commercially proven in a 15000-bpd plant in Turkmenistan since 2019.

Nacero has licensed Topsoe TIGAS (Topsoe Improved Gasoline Synthesis) technology for its multi-billion USD natural-gas-to-gasoline facility in Penwell, Texas to produce 100,000 barrels per day of gasoline component ready for blending into US commercial grades. The captured CO 2 will be used for enhanced oil recovery.

In August, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Ovadan-Depe near the capital of Ashgabad in Turkmenistan to launch the construction of a major plant focused on the conversion of natural gas into synthetic gasoline. Synthetic gasoline is a competitive alternative to refinery gasoline and new energy carriers.
