Ford introduced the new 2019 Transit Connect Cargo Van. The best-selling compact cargo van in the US, Ford Transit Connect has a 46% market share. More than 300,000 Transit Connect vehicles have been sold since 2009 when Ford created the segment in the United States. Of those, 97% are still on the road.

Azure Dynamics Corporation announced 29 new Ford Transit Connect Electric sales, including 8 units in Europe and 21 units in North America, which includes a 3-unit reorder from Johnson Controls, Inc. These sales include: Van Bortel Ford in Rochester, NY. Verizon Wireless through Stoneham in Stoneham, MA.

Azure Dynamics Corporation announced 27 Ford Transit Connect Electric van sales, including a five-unit sale to returning customer FedEx Express, a four-unit sale to the City of Toronto, a three-unit sale to DTE Energy, one of Michigan’s largest energy suppliers, and 15 unit sales to various Ford commercial truck dealers.

Ford Motor Company and Azure Dynamics Corporation have signed a collaborative agreement to begin delivering a pure battery electric version of the Ford Transit Connect van to customers in Europe beginning in late summer 2011. Repair works under the Ford warranty will be provided by Ford dealers.

Ford also plans strengthening its position in trucks, SUVs (including off-road and performance versions), and commercial vehicles. Commercial vehicles: Ford, the only full-line brand with offerings that stretch from Class 1 to Class 7, has a commanding 38% share of the US commercial vehicle market.

Manufacture of Transit will be consolidated in Ford’s principal commercial vehicle manufacturing facility operated by Ford Otosan in Kocaeli, Turkey, in 2013. Pending further study, production of the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX compact multi-purpose vehicles would move from Valencia to Saarlouis, Germany, in 2014 under the proposed plan.
