Australia is the world’s largest exporter of coal and one of the world’s highest per-capita emitters of greenhouse gases. Indonesia’s current rate of deforestation is estimated to be about 100,000 hectares (3,800 square miles) per year, down from a high of 250,000 hectares (9,500 square miles).
