Nuclear waste is a problem much harder to solve than CO2, and dams have quite an impact in the environment.

Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem.
