Air Products and Suzuki Shokan jointly to develop hydrogen fueling for Japan’s material handling market

Air Products and Suzuki Shokan, an industrial gas company based in Tokyo, will work together on the design, construction and operation of hydrogen fueling stations for use in fueling the material handling vehicle market in Japan. Air Products and Suzuki Shokan will take Air Products’ proven hydrogen fueling technology and work jointly to make any needed infrastructure modifications in order to meet Japanese laws and regulations.

Suzuki and Intelligent Energy Showcase Burgman Fuel Cell Scooter in London Ahead of Fleet Tests in the UK

Suzuki Motor Corporation nd Intelligent Energy jointly unveiled the Suzuki Burgman Fuel Cell Scooter ( earlier post ) in London’s Living Room, City Hall, London. First presented at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, the city-friendly Burgman Fuel Cell Scooter builds upon the success of the Crosscage fuel cell motorbike unveiled in 2007 ( earlier post ). The first public road tests of the Suzuki Burgman will be conducted initially at Loughborough.

Petrobras joins Model Fuels Consortium II

Reaction Design, a leading developer of advanced combustion simulation software, announced that Brazil’s Petrobras has joined the Model Fuels Consortium II (MFC II). Petrobras was a participant in the inaugural phase of the Consortium and is keenly interested in the Consortium’s work toward creation of accurate fuel models and combustion simulation tools that will enable the next generation of more efficient engines used for transportation and power generation.

Reaction Design introduces model fuel library resulting from work of Model Fuels Consortium

Reaction Design is introducing the first volume of the industry’s most well-validated available Model Fuel Library, the result of seven years of research and validation under the Model Fuels Consortium ( earlier post ). Volkswagen Joins Model Fuels Consortium II

Volkswagen has joined the Model Fuels Consortium II (MFC-II) ( earlier post )—the first German automaker to do so. The initial phase of the Model Fuels Consortium was launched four years ago by Reaction Design to enable the design of cleaner-burning, more-efficient engines and fuels. Volkswagen is particularly interested in the Consortium’s focus on modeling the combustion of both traditional fuels and potential next generation blends with accurate chemistry.

GE Energy is joining the Model Fuels Consortium II (MFC-II) ( earlier post ), the first gas turbine producer to do so. GE’s interest in the MFC-II stems from the Consortium’s focus on modeling fuel combustion as a way to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Modeling and simulation are critical elements in the cost-effective design of next-generation combustors that need to be cleaner burning, while capable of using a wide variety of fuels.
