We’re just days away from the full implementation of the vehicle scrappage scheme and several providers have announced their participation in the Government backed project. Volkswagen has also announced its scrappage scheme offers. The scrappage scheme comes into effect on May 18.

Having been boosted by scrappage scheme sales in Europe, Japanese manufacturer Suzuki wants to see a similar scheme implemented in Australia. Following Chancellor Darling’s recent announcement of a UK vehicle scrappage scheme, Mercedes-Benz UK has announced that the forthcoming smart fortwo cdi cabrio - with CO2 emissions of just 88 g/km - will be available to customers taking advantage of the scheme, including the full £2,000 saving.
