SoCalGas & UC Irvine show power-to-gas technology able to boost use of intermittent renewable energy significantly

Green Car Congress

With power-to-gas technology, you don’t need to stop renewable power generation when demand is low. Instead, the excess electricity can be used to make hydrogen that can be integrated into existing natural gas pipeline infrastructure and stored for later use. What Is Bidirectional Charging? Understanding the Benefits for Both Drivers and Businesses

EV Connect

Unlike most existing EV charging technology, which sends energy only in one direction — from a power source to a car’s battery — bidirectional charging allows the vehicle to send that energy for use by other devices. Through a converter that’s usually present in the charger, it allows vehicles to send energy directly back to the grid.
