Car-sharing operator Zipcar and the Westminster City Council in London have launched a new car sharing club fleet that will initially include 20 hybrid vehicles and will offer members access to the country’s first all-electric car club vehicle, a Citroen c1. Other vehicles include a VW Caddy Maxi van and a Toyota Verso people carrier.

Well known hybrid models, the Toyota Prius and the Honda Insight achieved enviable EuroNCAP results today. The batch of tests for eight new cars, included seven cars that scored the maximum five star award, whilst one car, the Citroen C3, received a four star result.

A green car event will take place at the Millbrook Proving Ground featuring vehicles from BMW, Chevrolet, Citroen, Ford, Honda, Kia, Mini, Peugeot, Toyota and Vauxhall. The event has been designed to provide company car fleet managers with the chance to test drive the latest environmentally friendly vehicles.
