Chinese battery supplier CATL will provide its cell-to-pack technology to startup ELMS for use in its Indiana-assembled electric delivery vans. Startup Electric Last Mile Solutions (ELMS) this week announced two new battery partnerships. ELMS is also partnering with startup Ample to use the latter's modular battery-swapping system.

The US contract manufacturer AM General will join the production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars, producing the R-Class in South Bend, Indiana, in the future. The model series, which has been available in China from the outset as a long version with six or seven seats, continues to be popular with Chinese customers.

Qiantu recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with Mullen Automotive to expand into the Americas, according to a press release from the Chinese startup today. Qiantu Motors, which is almost forgotten in its home market of China, is partnering with an American electric vehicle (EV) maker to bring its electric supercar back to life.
