plans to start test-marketing the e6 battery-electric vehicle ( earlier post ) in the US next year after almost a year’s delay, and is in talks with officials in Los Angeles to supply e-buses that could eventually lead to a manufacturing plant in the city. BYD, a company struggling to sell its e6 electric crossover in its home market, has decided it won''t be sold at all to private customers in the U.S. Instead, says the ChinaEV blog, the e6 will be a fleet-only vehicle in the U.S, as the company instead concentrates on its electric bus sales in North America.

The city of London, England is set to have its first all-electric taxi fleet from the second quarter of 2013. Taxi company greentomatocars and Chinese carmaker BYD have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see greentomato cars running a fleet of 50 BYD e6 electric crossovers.
