A high-definition video shows what the Li Mega looks like. The model will be launched in December, with deliveries beginning next February.

A video circulating on Chinese social media shows what 's (NASDAQ: LI) first BEV Li Mega looks like.

Wrapped in camouflage, a Li Mega MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) drives out of Li Auto's headquarters campus in Beijing, with the model looking like a locomotive for China's high-speed rail, according to a high-definition video shared by several auto bloggers yesterday.

The design is likely intended to minimize wind resistance and thus achieve a longer battery life.

The video was shared by Li Auto with car bloggers, according to what was posted by several bloggers. Below is the video shared by Chang Yan, who has 1.3 million followers on Weibo.

Li Auto's move seems to be aimed at warming up its first BEV model. Just the day before, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the latest catalog of models that will soon be allowed to be sold in China for public comment, and 's (NYSE: XPEV) MPV model, the X9, was included.

Li Auto currently has three models on sale, the five-seat Li L7, and the six-seat Li L8 and Li L9, all of which are EREVs, essentially plug-in hybrids.

The company plans to officially launch the Li Mega in December, and the model will be available in stores next January, with deliveries starting in February, it announced at the Chengdu auto show in August.

The Li Mega will be the highest-selling model in China priced at more than RMB 500,000 yuan ($68,770), regardless of energy form or body style, the company said several times.

The Li Mega will be built at a plant in Beijing, where Li Auto is headquartered, and where trial production has already begun, the company said on August 25.

Li Auto's Beijing plant has completed all construction work and will go into production early next year, according to the company.

All three of Li Auto's EREV models currently on sale are produced at Li Auto's plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu province.
