It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles. Regardless of past mistakes (EV1) they should be supported for trying to bring a car to market that actually changes things significantly. Engineering proptypes enjoy a tax break. Companies can not sell engineering prototypes in which the company got R&D tax breaks in developing the product.
