Why, simple the US embraced Fracking to produce bountifully supplies of cheap gas. Smart Meters waste. Right now, production is low in Russia, so the cost has increased. No Fracking. The unit cost of Gas in the UK is 4 times the price of US Gas. – Without UK Fracking we are more reliant on gas imports.

Millions will plug-in their electric vehicles [EV], plug-in hybrids [PHEV] and fuel cell vehicles [FCV] at night when electricity is cheap, then plug-in during the day when energy is expensive and sell those extra electrons at a profit. To deal with this major special waste problem has to my knowledge never ever been brought to the attention of the readers of any paper around the world. Batteries are highly special toxic waste and cannot be dropped on the average dump site, so who is going to pay to get rid of this problem?
