Budget 2024: Helping Canada get more EVs on the road – Electric Mobility Canada

After much anticipation, Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, tabled the federal budget on April 16th in Ottawa. Electric Mobility Canada (EMC) notes that the federal government continues to support the transition to electric transportation with some good news for potential EV buyers and for the EV supply chain.
- $608 million in new funding for EV purchase incentives for consumers through the existing Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) program.
- New 10% EV supply chain investment tax credit for EV supply chain companies in EV assembly, battery production and cathode active material production
