California ARB approves AMP Electric Vehicles E-100 medium-duty electric truck as ZEV for California

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has approved AMP’s E-100 truck as a zero emission vehicle and eligible for sale in California for the 2014 model year, which began this January.

We are extremely pleased that our AMP E-100 truck and its battery-electric power train has been approved by CARB and can be sold in California. We believe this is a major milestone towards bringing our E-100 truck to market in the state that leads the country in the adoption of zero-emission and low-emission vehicles.

—Steve Burns, CEO of AMP Electric Vehicles, Inc.

The AMP E-100 is designed for the package delivery market and is capable of carrying 19,500 lbs. when fully loaded with a range of 100 miles on a full battery charge.

AMP’s all-electric system incorporates a dual-motor system that produces 250 kW and accelerates the 19,500 GVW vehicle faster than the original factory-installed diesel engine does. The system has a total energy storage system of 100 kWh.

AMP is a plug-in electric drive motor vehicle manufacturer, founded in 2007 by entrepreneurs who have created several hi-tech companies. AMP is focused on the electrification of fleet vehicles, including medium-duty class 3-6 trucks and vans.
