Competition is going to force them to produce a comfortable, usable, extended range EV for that price, and I will just have to wait.

BYD , for examples, says their 60 mile range-extended vehicle can add 30 miles of range in ten minutes. For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. it seems to me there is too much range anxiety about these machines.
