Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction partners with RevoTech on production of hydrogen from waste plastic

Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has embarked on the development of technology for producing hydrogen using waste plastic and vinyl. The company has signed a business partnership MOU with RevoTech, a company that specializes in the continuous pyrolysis of waste plastic.

EU Innovation Fund grants €108M to RWE’s waste-to-hydrogen project FUREC

RWE's FUREC project, which aims to produce circular and green hydrogen from non-recyclable municipal solid waste in Limburg, the Netherlands, received a €108-million grant from the EU’s Innovation Fund. The CO 2 released during the hydrogen production is captured and can be stored or possibly used as a raw material by industry in the future.

US-based Raven SR to build waste-to-hydrogen project in Spain

Raven SR, a US-based renewable fuels company ( earlier post ), plans to build a waste-to-hydrogen production facility in Aragón, Spain, following the opening of its subsidiary Raven SR Iberia in Zaragoza, announced earlier this month. As a non-combustion process, there is no ash, no slag, build up, or hotspots in the equipment.

Veolia launches largest project to produce bio-methanol from pulp mill waste

As part of this cooperation, Veolia will build a crude methanol refinery in connection with Metsä Fibre’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill. Black liquor is the waste byproduct from the kraft pulping process after pulping is completed. The advantage of our industrial concept is that it is replicable at around 80% of the pulp mills worldwide.

SGH2 building largest green hydrogen production facility in California; gasification of waste into H2

The plant will feature SGH2’s technology, which will gasify recycled mixed paper waste to produce green hydrogen that reduces carbon emissions by two to three times more than green hydrogen produced using electrolysis and renewable energy, and is five to seven times cheaper. The facility will process 42,000 tons of recycled waste annually.
