The Volt has had to contend with the overblown battery fire incident and the production hiatus. Bright Automotive went under. With the Nissan LEAF and the Chevy Volt, you get nameplate cars that have been well-received by the press and most importantly, their drivers. It just might be up to us. Aptera went under.

The event was organised by Bright Automotive to showcase its IDEA - a 100mpg plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that it hopes to market to both Government and commercial fleets. Bright wasn’t alone in bringing its wares for display. General Motors was among them with the line of Volt cars seen as the future for the company.
