The all-electric SUV has a standby time of up to seven months. M&M aims to ship 20,000 units within a year of its launch. Delivery of high-quality EL variants will begin in March 2023

Mahindra & Mahindra, which started accepting reservations for the all-electric SUV “XUV400” on January 26, has already received more than 10,000 reservations as of the evening of January 29. The XUV400 currently has a waiting period of up to seven months, according to the company. Based on the current delivery scenario, Mahindra is targeting to ship 20,000 units of its XUV400 within a year of its launch.

M&M plans to deliver the top-of-the-line XUV400 EL starting in March 2023. Deliveries of the lower-spec XUV400 EC variant will only begin over the Christmas period this year. The current price of the XUV400 is between INR 159,900 and INR 189,900 (excluding showrooms), but these are introductory prices and only apply to the first 5,000 bookings of each of the two variants.

The XUV400 comes with two battery packs of 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh, driven by an electric motor mounted on the front axle, producing 150hp and 310Nm of torque. According to India’s Driving Cycle (MIDC), his XUV400 with a 34.5kWh battery has a range of 375km, while the 39.4kWh battery provides a range of 456km on a single charge. The XUV400 can be charged from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes using a 50kW DC fast charger. Mahindra has two charging options: a 3.3 kW AC charger and a 7.2 kW AC charger.

The XUV400 is available in variants, EC and EL. EC offers a small 34.5kWh battery pack with a 3.3kW or 7.2kW AC charger. The EL trim, on the other hand, gets a larger battery pack of 39.5kWh with a 7.2kW AC charger.

The top-of-the-line XUV400 boasts features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Mahindra’s Adrenox software, a single-pane sunroof, and connected car technology with over-the-air (OTA) updates. It has six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, an IP67 rating for the battery pack, and ISOFIX anchors as a safety kit.

Currently, the XUV400’s only direct competitor in the Indian market is the Tata Nexon EV, priced at Rs 149,900 to Rs 19,840 crore (before showroom).
