BMW i announced a home stationary energy storage system solution integrating its BMW i3 vehicle battery at EVS 29 in Montréal. The system utilizes BMW i3 high-voltage batteries and can be expanded to incorporate second-life batteries as they become available in the market.

The energy control stations at BMW Group Plants Dingolfing and Landshut are stepping up their activities in the balancing-power market in Germany. Automakers Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche and Volkswagen are proposing the standardization and global acceptance of a modular connector system for electric vehicle charging. The partners had earlier presented their early concept of a harmonization pathway for EV chargers at the California Air Resource Board ZEV Technology Symposium last year.
