After being rewarded for its contributions to the state of Georgia with its own “Hyundai Day,” the company said it expects to begin production in Q4 , ahead of its initial early 2025 timeline. The plant’s manager revealed a “super-large” Genesis electric SUV will be produced for the first time, according to The Korean Car Blog.

It will build the EV9 in Georgia, making it at least partially eligible for the credits, but there’s no word on when or if the EV6 will make the leap to domestic production. That, and the brand needs an entry-level model to push buyers higher in the lineup over time. Kia is also moving to improve its North American EV manufacturing footprint.
