The Nikkei reports that Suzuki Motor Corp. The car, to be a remodeled version of the Swift hatchback, will use a small lithium-ion battery capable of powering it for about 30 km (19 miles) on a full charge, according to the report. kWh Li-ion battery pack. will begin selling a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle as early as 2013.

In India, around 23 hybrid cars are available, ranging from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga to the Lamborghini Revuelto. Instead, the batteries are recharged using a combination of gasoline engine power and energy collected during braking (also known as regenerative braking). As a result, less fuel is burnt, and the fuel economy improves.

All electrified types contributed to growth as hybrids (HEV) increased their volume by 36%, pure electric (BEV) by 91% and plug-in hybrids (PHEV) by 173%. By brand, these cars represented an important part of the volume registered by Smart (96%), Lexus and Toyota (95% and 66% respectively), DS (42%), Suzuki (41%) and Land Rover (37%).
