Stellantis recently revealed its new lineup of electric and new energy commercial vehicles, including the Ram ProMaster EV van and the RAM 1500 REV pickup truck.
“The Ram brand commercial vehicle product lineup will be reinvigorated in North America with the upcoming electrified van and pickups, including the Ram ProMaster EV by the end of 2023 and the Ram 1500 REV in late 2024,” shared Stellantis in its announcement about its Pro One initiative.
The Pro One Initiative revamps the legacy automaker’s light commercial vehicle business. Stellantis launched 12 vehicles with the initiative under the Citroen, Fiat Professional, Opel, Peugeot, and Vauxhall brands.
The Ram ProMaster EV will be an all-electric van similar to the Fiat E-Ducato. The Ram ProMaster EV may take some inspiration from its Fiat counterpart, which has a standard 47.0 kWh battery pack. A 79.0 kWh battery pack is also available for the Fiat E-Ducato. Once the Ram ProMaster EV arrives on the market, it will likely compete against the Ford E-Transit and Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vans.
Meanwhile, the Ram 1500 REV is Stellantis’ electric pickup truck, likely to compete against the likes of the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro, the Cybertruck, and Rivian. Although, it must be noted that not all electric pickup trucks are made equal. For instance, Rivian’s R1T is made for outdoor adventure, whereas the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro is more of a workhorse.
The Ram 1500 REV has two battery options: standard and large packs. The standard battery pack has an estimated 350 miles of range. Meanwhile, the large battery pack is expected to deliver up to 500 miles of range.
In February 2023, RAM 1500 REV reservations appeared full. Customers who wanted to preorder a RAM 1500 REV received a message informing them that the membership for the Ram REV Insider+ program “reached max capacity.” As of this writing, memberships are still at max capacity due to high demand, claims the company.
