GM will debut 2014 Cadillac ELR extended range electric vehicle at NAIAS in January

The 2014 Cadillac ELR extended-range electric luxury coupe, based on the Converj concept (earlier post), will make its world debut 15 January at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The Converj concept made its debut at the NAIAS in January 2009; in August 2011, GM announced that the concept would move forward as a production car called the Cadillac ELR. (Earlier post.)
The ELR will advance the design theme of the Converj while featuring an electric propulsion system made up of a T-shaped lithium-ion battery, an electric drive unit, and a four-cylinder engine-generator.
The Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant will build the Cadillac ELR. The addition of the ELR to Detroit-Hamtramck represents a $35 million investment. It is the first two-door car built at the plant since the 1999 Cadillac Eldorado.
Make sure to overprice it GM. You wouldn't want to actually sell many of the cars with Li-ion batteries.

A good point, Bro.
There are many who claim that if you loose money on each car, you wouldn't want to actually sell many of the cars. . .
And if you make money on each car, you DO want to sell as many as you can.
A theory too complex for some, but proven in many markets.

There are still others who claim we can lose money on every car but make it up on volume.
