StoreDot says its silicon-dominant batteries will enable smaller battery packs capable of extreme fast charging, leading to more accessible EVs

StoreDot, the developer of extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology ( earlier post ), says it will soon be manufacturing silicon-dominant batteries that enable car makers to design and produce cheaper, lighter and more sustainable EVs. This technology will deliver 100 miles (160 km) of range in just five minutes of charge.

Wireless battery management could add EV range, downsize packs

LG Innotek, a unit of battery supplier and electronics giant LG, has introduced a wireless battery management system (BMS) it claims will boost EV range. Introduced in February, and first spotted by Charged EVs, the system is the first to marry wireless battery management with 800-volt electrical architecture, LG Innotek claims.
