I am waiting on batteries until the build is further along. I will definitely reach out to the forum for advice along the way. I have started the assembly. My plan is to have a Tesla drive train. It’s a little scary to recall that when iRobot last released an update to the Create DIY/educational robot platform, the calendar read 2014 (!). The Create 2 was based on the Roomba 600 series, which (for the record) is somehow still a workhorse in my house after a battery replacement.

At the time of the press release, I could not find a definitive picture. If electric vehicles are going to stand a chance against petro-based cars, standards are a must. Not to mention the parts you most definitely could sell from the running gear. If you want it to perform like a sports car instead of a slug in a sportscars skin, youre going to need that 10k for the ac drive system alone, and then maybe another 15k for a lithium battery pack. Which puts you at 50k, plus labor.
