In April, Axion Power International Inc received an order from Norfolk Southern Corp (NS) for PbC lead-carbon batteries for use in an all-battery-powered switcher locomotive. The Crescent Corridor is a 2,500-mile (4,023-km) rail network supporting the supply chain from Memphis and New Orleans to New Jersey.
