In China, Wuling launches electric minivan, Chevrolet introduces 48V MHEV Monza

In China, Wuling launched its first electric minivan, the Rong Guang EV, and Chevrolet launched four new Monza variants featuring 48V mild hybrid technology. The minivan comes with electric power steering (EPS) and is equipped with a driver’s side air bag for added safety.

Chrysler Group partnering with NextEnergy to evaluate vehicle-to-grid technology

Chrysler Group is working with NextEnergy to evaluate vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology using four all-electric minivans. The battery-powered minivans are connected to a charging module that, using NextEnergy technology, can simulate any electrical grid in the world. If EVs were linked together in sufficient numbers and their combined surplus power was sold to utility companies, they could conceivably offset demand surges.

Nissan introducing second non-plug-in e-POWER series-hybrid model: Serena e-POWER

will unveil the Nissan Serena e-POWER, a new version of the popular minivan featuring the company’s e-POWER electric drive system ( earlier post ), at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The Serena e-POWER will be Nissan’s second model to feature the technology. e-POWER borrows from the EV technology in the Nissan LEAF.
