Are You Plugged In?
Revenge of the Electric Car
FEBRUARY 23, 2010
Plug-in hybrids differ from hybrids on the road today in that they can go longer distances on battery power and can be recharged via electrical outlets. Some of the most talked-about electric vehicles are slated to debut later this year and can travel at least 100 miles on a single charge (even if some of them run on an auxiliary gasoline engine when the battery runs low). These vehicles are expected to range in price from about $40,000 to more than $100,000.
