Van Hool, an independent Belgian manufacturer of buses, coaches and industrial vehicles, has shipped the first CX45E, a 100% battery electric coach, to the US. Proterra was selected by Van Hool to supply the E2 battery technology and Siemens the traction system. The CX45E is a fully electric powered coach for the North American market.

The Van Hool factory in Macedonia is building 900 buses this year; the factory is designed for an annual capacity of 1,000 buses. The upgrade is available for the full range of Euro 6 hybrid buses. A large order of double articulated Van Hool Exqui.City tram buses was delivered to Trondheim, in Norway.
