In a session on total vehicle energy consumption, several people shared similar pie charts showing the flow of energy within an automobile. Crane also mentioned that one-quarter to one-third of the cost of a battery system is the packaging, integration and electronics. Where does all of the energy go? Braking losses add another 6%.
