Analysis by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) argues that EVs are the quickest means to decarbonize motorized transport. If just one out of five urban residents in Europe permanently changed from driving to cycling, emissions from automobiles would be cut by 8 percent, the study reports.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. Not really sure where all the money is going, but it seems like the Volt is already over-priced and under performing.
