Once the speed exceeds approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) or under strong acceleration, the engine cuts in automatically. In Comfort mode, the high-voltage battery is automatically recharged by the high-voltage generator to a charge up of around 15%. Under normal loads, the vehicle initially sets off purely on electric power.
