Piaggio Vehicles inaugurates e3W showroom in Bangalore

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, a pioneer of 3-wheeler goods transportation in India has announced that it has marked its footsteps in Bangalore with its experience centre. It is reaching out to every state with its electric vehicles network. The company inaugurated its EV experience centre Mobility Motors in Bangalore. The dealership is inaugurated by B Sriramlu, Minister of Transport Department and Tribal Welfare, Karnataka.

This new dealership will cater a platform for Piaggio’s newly launched FX range (fixed battery) of EVs in both cargo and passenger versions for its Bangalore customers.

Launching on the new dealership the minister said, “With the Centre’s PLI scheme to boost the EV segment, Karnataka is also fully committed to switching towards green mobility and we thank Piaggio for taking a step ahead in fulfilling this mission. The Karnataka government has also planned to come up with a high-tech ‘Karnataka Electric Mobility Research and Innovation Centre’ for supporting e-mobility in the state.”

“The EV support infrastructure has been growing and we have targeted to set up 500 charging stations in Karnataka. The state has registered 25,725 EV beneficiaries under the government’s FAME II scheme, making it one of the leading states in India to avail the same. I am sure the initiatives taken by the state and central government will empower EV producers towards making green mobility a reality.”

The company’s new experience centres have come up in Patna, Biharshariff, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Jamui, Motihari, Siwan, Supaul, Forbesganj and Bettiah in Bihar itself which was very recently launched by the company.

In August the company had partnered with Three Wheels United (TWU) a Bengaluru based tech-enabled financier of light electric vehicles to accelerate the adoption of electric three-wheelers in India. Under this partnership, the TWU will deploy 500 Piaggio Ape’ E-City and Ape’ E-Xtra vehicles across India.

The company’s statement said that the Piaggio Ape’ E-City and Ape’ E-Xtra vehicles across India will jointly work to promote the adoption of electric vehicles. TWU will also facilitate three-wheeler passenger vehicle and cargo vehicle drivers to switch to EVs from old vehicles. It will offer the needed support for the maintenance and servicing of the vehicles.

Last month it had set up its first electric vehicle outlet in Chennai. It is the first-of-its-kind facility in Tamil Nadu. The company is also looking forward to expanding its EV presence in other markets in Tamil Nadu as well apart from Chennai.
