No less an auto industry titan as Ford has also made bidirectional charging a selling point of their F-150 Lightning electric truck, reportedly slated to roll off the lines this year. In case of power outage at home, the DC pins in the charger can send juice back into the house, keeping the lights on.

There are a large number of established Chinese electric car makers: BYD, SIAC, XPENG, NIO, WULING, CHERY, and more.

So while my car is powering the great city during the day how will I have juice to drive home at the end of the day? Does it, in essence, come down to the fact that V2G takes advantage of battery storage that would exist anyway , as opposed to requiring batteries specifically for the purpose of storing night-time electricity? But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.
