Well, America’s auto industry delivered over 100,000. That helped us become the world’s greatest industrial power. It helps that the auto industry will be building more efficient new vehicles. And magically, as more electricity comes from lower-carbon fuel sources, our cars will get cleaner as they get older!

But the new rules could make it virtually impossible for current Prius owners to transform their cars into super-efficient vehicles that get up to 150 mpg. Plug-ins also get far better gas mileage than traditional hybrids — a regular Prius gets 50 to 60 mpg, compared to a plug-in Prius’ 100 to 150 mpg.

Electric Cars and The Volt Can Transform America and the Auto Industry TODAY!!! Also, power plants will reduce emissions overtime making electric cars cleaner per vehicle once the stationary source that powers the vehicle gets cleaner. 1) Electric cars are zero emission vehicles. So, what is there to do?

Several global indicators on the supply of oil and the known carbon pollution environmental damages its caused all lead us to find cleaner ways of transportation. A car that gets 60 mpg still burns 17 gallons of gas every 1,000 miles versus a car that gets 21 mpg using E85 (my Chevy Impala) that burns 7.1 aren’t there yet.
