Deliveries of the hotly anticipated BYD Seal are about to begin, according to emails received by some of the first customers of the newly launched electric sedan.
Pricing and specifications of the Seal were only unveiled last month, but the order books were quickly overwhelmed as hundreds of buyers flocked on the website to configure a model Ā with the promise of first deliveries by Christmas this year.
Some of those early customers are now being contacted by BYD to prepare for deliveries, indicating the first deliveries are possibly days away.
One of these order holders from Brisbane shared on Facebook that they received an email from BYD that their Seal was ready for collection: āI just got an email from byd saying my Seal is ready.ā
This order was placed on October 17 in Queensland which indicates that their vehicles could likely be delivered in the first batch which was spotted at the port in Brisbane earlier this week.
The ordered white mid-spec Premium model has been shipped and is ready for delivery in under 6 weeks from the initial order.Ā
On the back of this news, several other order holders were thrilled by the prospect of receiving their Seal earlier than anticipated. āJust got my E-mail as well. Bloody exciting š,ā one said.
This also suggests that deliveries outside of Queensland are also likely to begin in the coming weeks in the lead-up to Christmas.
Having just received a five-star ANCAP rating, the Seal is likely to be a good option for those looking at a sports sedan or for fleet buyers looking at upgrading their ICE sedan fleets in the near future.
In September, BYD opened its flagship at Alexandria in Sydney where the BYD Seal was officially unviled.
I also got to spend a bit of time inside the top-spec dual-motor variant which looked and felt very plush with soft-touch materials inside the cabin. This was continued in the backseats where there was plenty of leg room.
Local customers can place an order on the new Seal in three variants, which include:
- Dynamic ā $49,888 before on-roads
- Premium ā $58,798 before on-roads
- Performance ā $68,748 before on-roads
