The vision is fuelled by the fear of climate change and the need to find green alternatives to dirty coal, unpopular nuclear power and unreliable gas imports from Russia. Finally there may be new energy storage that requires less lithium. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it?
