The first eye-opener for large scale solar was the Austin Energy PPA last year that was priced at 5 cents. Silicon based PV, on the other hand, is hugely scalable and relatively cheap. They had better think seriously about financing solar and wind arrays.

So, the used batteries are almost arbitrarily cheap since an arbitrarily large fraction of their cost of production can be loaded on their use in transportation. Wind, solar and nuclear could easily change our electrical sources. We need forward thinking, Gathering energy from solar and wind during the day at home and then charging our cars at night from these sources are ready now.
