Geo renamed the Nova as the Geo Prizm and added other models jointly produced with Isuzu and Suzuki in North America and Japan, but separated them from its “American” cars. Mercedes is starting to roll out its EQ line and Audi already offers is expanding its E-Tron lineup. An EV appears in a sub-brand, but not really part of it.

In its first year on sale the Polestar 2 outsold the Audi A4/A5, Lexus ES, Mazda6, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Passat and Hyundai Sonata. Conversely, big guns such as Toyota, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Subaru didn’t sell a single EV between them – and Ford logged one of its upcoming E-Transits as sold in 2022.

Tesla’s 3397 sales in August were more than Volkswagen (2868), MG (3074), Subaru (2960), Honda (1260), BMW (2395), Mercedes-Benz (2386), Audi (1350), Nissan (1666), Jeep (682) and Lexus (477). With just two models, Tesla was the seventh best selling brand in the country, outselling brands with vast model ranges.

His garage currently houses, apart from the e2o, a Toyota Prius and an Isuzu pickup. He compared the Nexon’s running cost with the Audi Q3 that he sold to get the Nexon, and reckons that he has saved Rs. In the Audi he would have to change tyres every 30,000 km. One of his friends has parked an Audi TT at his place.
